My name is Anupa Khati, I am 23 years old and I live in India. The life I lived before I got to know Jesus Christ was very difficult and bad. My family was loyal to a brahmin (Hindi priest) that only allowed us to eat vegetarian food. My mother was also a Hindu priest in a way, and she didn’t just worship one god; she had hundreds of gods. She was full of evil spirits and could prophesy over other people. Every time a demon attacked her body, we could clearly see the reactions through strange movements she made with her body, as well as her eyes turning into different colors. Demons caused her to suffer from many sicknesses and symptoms. Her long hair became stiff and couldn’t be combed; after she received Christ, we actually had to cut it all off.

In that period there were a lot of snakes inside our house; I saw them myself. I was so afraid, so I often went to sleep at my grandmother’s place. My grandfather was involved in dark magic, so we actually lived in an atmosphere of demonic influence. When my grandfather passed away, he passed all these demons on to my mother. At a point she passed out, and when she woke up again, she was out of her mind. The influence of all the demons caused her not to recognize her own family members, neither my brother nor my father, and not our neighbor either. I was devastated by seeing my mother so broken. We went to see doctors, but they were unable to do anything. Our hope decreased day by day. In addition to this, my father often got drunk and yelled at me. He didn’t treat me like a father should treat their children. My life was only darkness.
