D Bahadur
D. Bahadur is the name of a pastor that went to a bibleschool in Kathmandu. The school has been training evangelists and leaders from all over Nepal for many years. Hundreds of workers have gotten their calling and equipping here. When Bahadur was done with his training he went back to his hometown and started preaching to his family and relatives. Through many signs and wonders, especially healing of the sick, people started to give their lives to the Lord. In 2007 Bahadur experienced something he never will forget. A man came in to the house where he stayed, carrying a little boy. The boy was one year old, cold, and white. The father told that the boy had died the night before after being sick for several days, and not drinking milk from his mother for over one week. His whole family were Hindus, and due to tradition, they had called together the whole family for a funeral the next day.
The family had already gathered, and they were ready to say farewell to the little boy. While the family were preparing to bury the boy in the traditional Hindu way, his father suddenly stood up and said: “My son shall not be buried, I don’t want anything more to do with the Hindu gods, I will find some Christians to pray for my son, and then he will live again!”
The grandfather of the boy, tried everything to talk sense to his son, he cried and said that it was crazy. All the family tried to make the father of the dead boy change his mind, but he was determent. He took the boy and started walking towards the town where Bahadur lived, because he knew there was a church there. After many hours of walking he and his wife came to the town and started asking people where he could find some Christians. Someone led them to Bahadurs house, and so he got his unexpected visit.
The father of the boy shared with the pastor what had happened to the child. He also told that his wife had lost many children in miscarriage, so this was their first child. He said that he had worked as a migrant worker in India. During his stay there, someone had told him about a man called Jesus, whom had risen from the dead, and had power over sickness. At that time, he did not receive Jesus, but when his son died this testimony came to his mind. He asked pastor Bahadur to pray for the boy.
The pastor started to pray. Not only a short prayer, but he proclaimed verses from the bible over the dead boy. After a while the grandmother of the child came, because she wanted to see where they would bury her grandchild. When she arrived, she became an eye witness to the fact that the boy opened his eyes, started to cry and wanted to drink milk from his mom. The grandmother gave her life to Jesus right away. She also removed some ties from the boy’s hands and feet. These ties were given to the boy by some witchdoctors to protect the boy from evil spirits.
They stayed with pastor Bahadur for four days. When they came back to their own village with the living boy, the whole extended family gave their lives to Jesus. The boy is alive and well today, and he is full of trust. Praise God!
