At the end of 2005, my mom and I met a woman whom I call aunt. We were strangers before, but because of God's love, we are united. At that time, she and we were still very new to our faith in Jesus Christ. With a simple heart, we faithfully gathered together. Being the first person in family to believe in Christ and despite of facing with many persecutions, she did not give up and kept her faith because she realized who God was in her life.
Before believing in God, an incident happened to her. The accident caused her to undergo two brain surgeries. She had to stay in the hospital for three months during the coma and treatment. Life had many changes after that, especially regarding her health. As time passed, both physical and mental injuries remained in her. When she heard about Jesus and learned about Him, she knew how to pray and trust that God was her Healer. God's power and love every day, little by little, have brought about great changes in her emotions and health. She can walk and function like a normal person, but she is not yet agile and cannot carry heavy loads. She always wished to have a child. And one day, she found out she was pregnant. However, that man left her and did not want to be responsible for her and the child. Her parents and relatives thought that with her health condition, how could she carry the pregnancy as the pregnancy grew, and whether she would be able to raise the baby alone or not.
She herself had defects, and everyone was worried that the baby would not be born healthy. Everyone objected and forced her to have an abortion. She was confused and didn't know what to decide. As a believer, she knows that abortion is murder and that does not please God. She called my mother, who is a pastor, to get counseling and advice. Because of her fear of God and faith in His power, my mother told her not to abandon the baby because it was a sin. My mother prayed for her a lot and accompanied her throughout that time no matter how much the family objected. Putting aside her fears, focusing on God and trusting Him, she and the baby were both healthy. On July 29, 2018, my mom and her relatives were at the hospital and welcomed the baby into the world. My mom was respected and allowed by the family members to be the first to hold the baby because everyone knew how she fought with the baby's mother to keep him born safely. He was born healthy with a perfect body that God miraculously made for him. Praise God! There are no defects on him. His eyes are big and beautiful. My mother adopted him as her child. He is truly a gift from God. He was named Thien Phuoc, meaning he is a blessing from God.
Now, every Sunday, he go with his mother to worship God. He has grown up healthy and handsome by God’s grace. Every day, God still protects and cares for mother and the boy. I thank God because He is merciful and loving. As He promises, He will never leave or forsake us, those who seek Him and love Him. Pray that she will become stronger and an example of faith for Thien Phuoc. Pray that he will also grow up under God's protection and guidance so that he can become a man after God’s heart. He has given Thien Phuoc a life on this earth, so He has prepared for him a future and the best plan in His will.
