Parminder's miracle
Parminder Singh (41) lives in Bathinda in Punjab. He grew up in a Sikh family with his mother, father and a younger sister. His father worked as a policeman, and his mother looked after the home - as is usual here. When Parminder was in the tenth grade at school, he started experimenting with drugs. Together with his schoolmates, he was curious about this, but it would turn out to be a bad idea. He eventually became completely addicted and progressed to drugs such as cocaine and opium. At the same time, he also developed a lifestyle of violence and crime. He threatened both family members and friends in order to get money from them to buy more drugs, because the drugs he eventually became addicted to cost a lot.

Parminder did this continuously for 25 years. He tried several times to stop, and he often asked himself: “How long am I going to keep doing this? How far shall I go?” But every time he got together with his friends, he fell into it again.
In the beginning, his father tried to help Parminder and give advice to get him out of drug addiction and crime, but eventually he just chose to distance himself from his son. Mother and other family members turned to witchcraft and voodoo to, if possible, find help there - but to no avail. In 2015, Parminder came to God's Grace Church. He enjoyed himself very much there in the congregation; both the song and the music as well as the worship and the sermon attracted him. Nevertheless, the problems continued for a long period. Pastor Supkal spent a lot of time with him, giving him advice and reading from God's Word. She placed particular emphasis on the fact that Parminder was now a new creature, and he says today that this was of great importance. In 2016, he went through a gradual tapering off of drug use and also the bad lifestyle, and at Christmas of the same year they celebrated that he had become completely free.
The last round he had with the police in his old life was in 2017. He was then arrested together with friends who were in illegal possession of weapons. The police caught everyone and put them in custody. Of all things, he saw a cross hanging in the window of the prison cell. Then he was convinced that there was no reason to fear; Jesus would take care of his case. During the interrogation, the police surprisingly believed his explanation, so he was released after two days. He himself sees this as a great miracle.

Parminder has a wife and a sixteen-year-old son. They have both suffered a lot under his way of life. He didn't care one bit about his son for all the years he was growing up. Now the family is fully reunited, both husband and wife, son and parents. They have great respect for him and ask his advice before making important decisions. Parminder has become the man he was meant to be. Both his wife, son and mother have now been saved - in addition to several other relatives - after they have seen this miracle in Parminder's life.
Today, Parminder works with the production of natural medicines made from herbs. He has been doing this for two years, and the business is going well. The products are sold through health food chains in several Indian states. "Hallelujah!" keeps coming from Parminder's mouth. What no man or power was able to do for him, God did.
